9th Annual Spring Fling Homeless Veterans Motorcycle Poker Run, was held on Saturday May 14th, it was a huge success. In the past nine years this event has raised money to assist Interlink to defray operational costs and purchase specific items in need. This past year the event raised nearly $9,000 for Interlink. There are many involved in making this event a success. I would like to thank VFW Post 10281, DAV Post 003, Bikers Who Care, VeLox Express, Boonedock’s, Fort Knox Federal Credit Union, Bud Collins, and Paul Davidson. These businesses and people have sponsored this event since its inception in 2003. Additionally, I would like to thank all of the volunteers and participants that support the poker run every year. This event has grown from 40 motorcycles in 2008 to several hundred, with more each year. Many of the participants attend this event annually. I like to consider this event the “Toys for Tots” for homeless veterans.
