Heather Long
Heather Long has a passion for helping men recover from chemical dependency and sustain independent living free from addiction in society. Her educational career has been dedicated to ensuring that laws are upheld and that innocent lives are protected. She recently graduated from the University of Louisville magna cum laude with a Master of Science in Justice Administration. Her two Bachelor’s degrees are in Spanish and Justice Administration. Throughout her schooling, she participated in several internships and study abroad experiences. For two semesters, she worked with the US Secret Service and the US Customs and Border Control along with studying the Spanish language in Mexico and Panama. As a graduate assistant at the University of Louisville, she aided a professor in extensive research that included writing book chapter, articles, and book reviews.
In 2009, Ms. Long began working with Interlink Counseling Services, Inc. as the administrative assistant part-time while she finished her education. Since then, she has been promoted to Director of Operations. Some of her responsibilities include the following: collecting and documenting HMIS demographics, Shelter Plus Care client case management, updating policies and procedures, ensuring QA reports and meetings occur regularly, assisting the President / CEO and the Executive Director, and ensuring the quality and smooth operation of the facility. She also fulfills other miscellaneous responsibilities such as supervising community service, calculating client satisfaction surveys, recording charitable donations and sending letters of appreciation, creating and updating clinical forms, drafting interoffice memos, composing letters, and maintaining the Administrative Renewal Report. In the future, Ms. Long would like to continue working for Interlink as it grows and prospers.
