Ron Parris

Ron Parris became a staff member of Interlink Counseling Services, Inc. in February 2011. His position began as a Night Monitor, but since this time, he was promoted to a Case Manager due to his diligence and passion toward Interlink’s mission to help homeless veterans return to independent living and a sober lifestyle. He is very committed to the new direction his career has taken. Some of his responsibilities include case management with the Phase II clients participating in Interlink’s Genesis House program as well as administering medication and crisis intervention.

Mr. Parris was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, and he overcame his addiction after a 25 year battle. In 2006, his life was changed with the help of a long-term, rehabilitation program similar to the one at Interlink. Since this time, Mr. Parris has devoted his life to helping others enjoy the opportunity of recovery.

His Associate’s Degree was obtained in Human Services at KCTCS, and he is currently working toward his Bachelors in Social Work at the University of Louisville Kent School. In addition, he is gathering clinical supervision hours to become a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC).

He believes that Interlink has given him the following two opportunities: the ability to help others transform their lives and the chance to serve his country by helping its veterans. As the men return from countries such as Iraq to the community, they will need as much help as can be given. Mr. Parris believes that he can best serve his country by helping those who fight to defend it. In his opinion, he has been given these opportunities because he truly was able to drop his life of addiction and humbly accept what life had to offer. He now has a full caseload of Phase II clients, and he hopes that he can make a difference in each of their lives. “Success is nothing more than never giving up.”
